Tala the Shy Pangolin

Tala the Shy Pangolin: Explorer of Ant Trails and Hidden Paths in the Archipelago Forest

Edisi Indonesia: Tala si Tenggiling Pemalu

In a lush tropical forest, there lived a small pangolin named Tala.
She was very shy. Every time there was a loud noise or another animal came close, Tala would curl up into a tiny ball of scales.

"She's so shy, isn’t she?" whispered a little bird.
"All she can do is hide!" scoffed a playful monkey.
Tala stayed silent, lowered her head, and slowly slipped into a small burrow where she felt safe.

But there was something they didn’t know.

Tala had a special gift: she could read the trails of ants and remember every underground path she had ever walked.
In her mind, those paths formed a secret map.

One day, a thick fog covered the forest. All the small animals were confused and separated from their families. Even the big animals got lost.

"Who can lead the way?" asked a worried deer.

Tala stepped forward quietly, her eyes focused on the ground. She followed tiny trails only she could understand.
“This way… past this root… turn left…” she murmured softly.

One by one, the animals followed Tala.

Through bushes, soil, and hidden tunnels beneath the banyan roots, they finally reached a hill where the sun shone warmly, and everyone could see the way home.

The animals cheered.
“Thank you, Tala!”
“We’re sorry for underestimating you…”

Tala smiled shyly.
She was still quiet, still shy—but now she knew:
Being silent doesn't mean knowing nothing.
Hiding doesn't mean being weak.
Within her calmness was a strength that saved them all.

Moral Message

Every creature has a unique gift. Though shy, Tala proves that knowledge and sensitivity can be powerful strengths.
